Vmware Doubt - How To Install Vmware + Win on Semi-Managed VPS?

Hey folks, i just purchased this good vps to run my windows based black-app applications, but the vps is linux based. It is running on CentOS 5 with HypverVM panel.

I dont understand a frickking 'thing' about linux so i need help to install vmware + win on my vps.

This is so bad, my vps has this 100 mbit connection and i cant use it.

I am noob so please help me.

Try having a look at Virtual Box - its a free one and easier to set up than VMWare.
Works on Linux, Mac or Windows

Well, What exactly you want to use on linux, coz sometimes its more easier on linux than windows

I want to run auto pligg and xrumer on my vps, they are windows based apps

ok how about Installing "wine" on linux because it let us to run windows based apps on linux.

First I choose vmware as operating system. There is no help or documentation whatsoever what does it mean by vmware. VMWare esxi? VMware 2.0? Which vmware?

Then a very good friend ask me to install centosh. It looks to me that he install centosh, then install vmware on top of it, then install windows 2008 on top of it.

I want to be able to do it my self. There is no tutorial on the net whatsoever to do so.

Then all of my secondary IPs stop working. I restarted the server and that doesn't help at all. I couldn't even ping those secondary IP. I can't remote desktop because remote desktop works on the secondary IP. I can't fix the network connection because I can't remote desktop.

I can reinstall the whole operating system but then I do not know how to install vmware in the first place. My head is hitting wall.

If this works, then for $100 per month you can have unlimited bandwidth.

The easiest thing to do is ask the datacentre if they can put the VMWare ESXi CD into the drive (or on a USB stick) and then give you KVMoIP access for an hour.

You can then install ESXi and away you go - I have just done this with a server and its all up working perfectly!

If you cannot get your DC to put the CD / USB drive in then you are buggered.

If you need any more info or help just PM / IM me - but you will need the DC to put the CD in the drive and let you have KVMoIP access. Like I said, just did this with Leaseweb (Dutch server) and they put the USB drive in with the VMWare ESXi image on, hour later my first VPS was up and running

ESXi is its own operating system so you do not have to install Centos or whatever first.
As for your second IP not working after you reinstalled Centos, you will have to re-add the IP, its not automatic after a rebuild.

Off the top of my head, I don't have me notpad near me at the mo, to add another IP address, and your NIC is called eth0 at the moment, SSH to your box and type:

ifconfig eth0:0 IP.ADDRESS.NUMBER.2 \ netmask 255.255.255.0 up
