    Fellow BHW members,

Vkontakte, or Vk - as it's called now, is the largest Social Networking site in the FSU (Former Soviet Union) countries.

I have been its member since past 4 years, and have closely noticed the changes and the opportunities.

It boasts 119 Million Users, and is the largest social networking site in the FSU region!!!

119 Million Users - Largest social networking site in FSU - you read that right! = HUGE potential!

I was checking out the previous BHW posts, in the hope that there must be at least some Vkontakte Bot or Scraper out there! To my utter shock, there was none!

I find that the reason is that site used to be in Russian primarily, and maybe that doesn't gives to much room for the English speakers. Even now, most of the people and the communication on this site takes place in Russian, for the obvious reasons that 95% of the people are from FSU.

But, since almost over an year, the site has completely transformed and has an English interface too. Moreover, just the English speakers groups have ~250,000 members as such.

My point is - it's simply a piece of cake you can't avoid! I am looking forward to some bots/Scrapers and other BlackHat stuffs for this site, cause it's like a goldmine!

I have closely noticed the IMMENSE Biz potential for us on this site, and it keeps growing!

If you have any questions or want to know more about the site and the demographics and the changes I observed on it since past 4 years, let me know here or PM me.

Majority of people there are still Russians, aren't they?
What are they after? Sex, muscles and money?

Well, of course it's not so bad for meeting up with girls or flirting around.

My point is that out there - right there - is a BIG market which is still UNTAPPED!

Yes, majority of the people are Russians, but it's one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
Believe me, people here crave for such sites like 'Study Abroad', Work abroad or Travel abroad, learn English and all that. A Fashion/Lifestyle related blog will also work wonders here.
There is almost no major competition here, and that's why I said - once you have a Scraper or a Bot to automate few processes, you're the MAN!

Who said that Vkontakte is untapped? There are a lot of russian speaking IMers who exploiting it. VK has more "Spam" than Facebook.

They are not IMers - they are Spammers.

There is a slight difference between the two. An IMer, even if a Blackhat, bulk comments/posts for a particular goal, for driving audience to their sites and so on. When you just get "I want sex tonight", from your friend, then it's nothing! There's usually not even a link to click, and most people have already seen such kinds of messages to instantly delete it.

Moreover, Vk has a very strong anti-Spam mechanism now. My point is marketing there - tapping the people and the mass resources which was hindered - earlier, because of language issues and usually because many people particularly in the US don't even know about it!

Yeah you right, there is difference between the two. Thats why i wrote "spam" and not spam;) What i mean is on VK are a lot of spammers and a lot of IMers with long-term promotion strategies.
Thats true, I havent noticed any spam last couple of month.
