1. They in fb never let you do what you you easily CAN do in vk: targeting people by sex, age, geography, date of birth, political and religious views, married/single/searching 4 dick etc., finding ANY possible content -- free books, video, music)
2. Usability (all in one or two clicks access; no one leading you in circles constantly trying to make money of you as FB does)
3. Million tons of totally free pirate content (everything they ever stole of music and video; 3rd biggest audio hosting of the planet, 4-th biggest video hosting -- if it is in english and published this and past century you`ll find it).
4. Biggest social net in Europe BTW.

Main problem: mostly all around you will be speaking in russian. But if you just see movies, listen music and looking for girlfriend it is not a problem at all.)
P.S. A lot of ideas was stolen by Google+ and FB from this very project.

Why VK is shit:
1. Russian traffic can not be monetized. It is not solvent.
2. Since there is poor protection of automation, there is a lot of software like bots. And there are very few people alive and a lot of bots in this social network.

VK makes sense to use only as a source of images for fake FB accounts.
 
1. First of all I advised to use VK as entertainment platform, not as promotional one. VK is the nicest place to find all that Hollywood or modern/old bands ever produced. If you look for books, video or songs in english you`ll certainly find it. For example you can (using simple Chrome plugin) download gekatons of free pron movies and to start your own topical site. If you want to monetize VK just think a bit more creative.:)
2. It is a myth. VK protection is less stupid than Twitter`s one. There are not so much bots and fakes that FB has at the moment (you simply cannot register and do something useful without giving them your phone number). Also they massively kill bots from time to time using their own (pretty smart) algorithms. So if you are looking for russian of european traffic it has sense to register some VK accounts. Start studying this social net more attentively, pals.

Seriously. VK is cool. The only thing why it isnt winning the world today -- they do not know about it in US.

Off topic....I used to find girls for my trips to Ukraine back in the days through vk :) and couple other sites...

the language is the problem there .. but a entertaining page.
