maybe someone can help me out with this. this isn't important or anything but, i've always wondered... when i work comments, or see others doing it, i always see replies like, "is that virus free too?" or, "does that virus come in blue?" or some other snide remark involving a virus. and for the life of me i can't figure out, why a virus? what can we possibly gain from giving people viruses? are we trying to become comic-book villains or something? i dont get that

Bro you are here since 2011...i assume also in IM stuff and you have basic online knowledge...so how the fuck you still dont know what virus cause and how ppl who send it benefit from it...?

Because some people profit off of viruses. Naturally people are wary about downloading things off Youtube and they should be.

It's not viruses that kill your computer it's more adware.

ah. yeah i know about adware, trojans, other malware. shit that can steal information, lock computer's up and demand funds, ransom ware & what not. i thought viruses just strictly do harm. but i know people do use virus as a general term too, so fuck it

With virus you can have 100% access to the pc (the only thing you can't do is turn it on), that being said, you can spy webcam's, steal passwords...

If you think about it, if you infect a normal internet user nowadays, you could steal his money, privacy and data.
