TL;DR: Start small. Match billing address + ZIP. Keep $20–30 on the card. Toggle 3DS if needed. If declined, switch BIN (US Visa ↔ HK Mastercard), lower limits, and avoid rapid retries.
Starter config
  • BINs: Primary US Visa · Backup HK Mastercard
  • Currency: USD
  • Balance buffer: $20–30
  • Limits: per-charge $20–50 · daily $50–200 · monthly = plan × 1.2–1.5
  • 3DS: On first; A/B off if declines persist
Common issues → quick fixes
  • Declined / Do not honor: switch BIN, lower limits, wait 12–24h
  • AVS mismatch: copy billing address & postal code exactly
  • Insufficient funds: top up + FX/fee buffer
  • 3DS required/failed: toggle 3DS or change BIN
Note: We’ve had stable results with a provider that supports multi-BIN routing and per-merchant limits (e.g., Buvei).
What setups have worked best for you?

Keeping the daily spend under $150 made my VCs way more stable, learned the hard way

Virtual cards can be hit or miss stability usually depends on matching details (name, address, ZIP) and keeping enough balance to cover fees. Over time, traditional bank-issued cards or PayPal tend to be more reliable for ads.

I've been trying to follow the same setup small balance buffer and matching billing info but I still get random declines even when funds are available. Do you guys think it’s more about the BIN choice?
