    Ok here's the deal:

    1. I browsed LowEndBox.com and saw a BuySellAds ad about Virpus.

    2. I went ahead and purchased their U-Basic plan for $5 because it looked like a great deal.

    3. Waited ~8 hours for VPS to get activated (Even if it says Instant Activation on the Order Page).

    4. Couldn't connect to VPS via ssh. Looks like Network problem. So, I opened ticket about it.

    5. Received a reply in 20 minutes and issue got fixed right away.

    6. Started to setup VPS. Realised that connection speed was like 24kb/s when doing an update or when installing a software with apt-get (Debian) or yum (redhat based) or when fetching packages with wget.

    7. Opened ticket about that.

    8. Received a reply in an hour and they told me that they are forwarding the ticket to senior tech.

    9. Waited ~24 hours but didn't receive any reply. Started to feel angry (duh).

    10. Replied to ticket asking for quick action.

10.5 Called their Toll-Free number but it was busy! It was always busy (how weird).

11.5 Opened another ticket asking for refund.

    11. Received a reply on next day. They asked me to give the VPS a try. I logged into VPS via ssh and I still get crappy connections.

    12. Tell them about it.

    13. After 2 days!!!! They show me a speed test and they are getting speeds like 8MB/s on my VPS. (See pictures below)

    14. I logged into VPS and try to download the same file and I get like ~126KB/s . Go ahead and laugh!!!

    15. I tell them about it.

    16. They close the ticket!!!!!!! What the hell??? They close my ticket without acting on it?

    17. Opened another ticket with subject: SOLVE MY PROBLEM OR SEND ME REFUND.

    18. They replied in ~3 hours and told me that there was a network problem and they fixed it.

    19. I log into VPS and do the speed test again. Still ~125KB/s !!!!!

    19.5 I opened Paypal dispute

    20. They replied to my refund ticket ( after 3 days at last!!!) and asked me to cancel my account and they would send me refund right afterwards. I did it promptly.

    21. They didn't send refund but instead went to Paypal and escalated the dispute to a claim! They are Scam Artists.

So, they waited for me to cancel my account so that they don't have to send any refund. I guess that had it all planned from the beginning. I am sure that I'm not the only one to have experienced this with Virpus by now and I am sure they will continue to do that. But anyway, I am just sharing a bad experience. As you can see above, they ARE scammers. All the proof is here.

I am not arguing with them because of a mere $5 bill but I am just really pi$$ed off that they did that!

I hope Virpus gets forced out of business very soon. Check out the pictures from the crime scene below (or in attachment):

Go post that at Webhostingtalk.com - a lot of hosts get twitchy if bad reports get posted there, especially when you have all the screenshot proof of the chats you have had!

Bet you will get a refund quite quickly then :)

They stole $50 in affiliate earnings from my friend, I wouldn't recommend them either.

they are most likely resellers who spent the money as soon as they got it and had nothing to refund you.

What were you expecting from a $5 vps anyway? I love people who want to pay the least price, free if possible and still demand and expect the best service in the world. You get what you pay for. Either spend $35-$40 bucks and live happily with your vps like many of us do, or just choke it up and move on. But stop acting like a cry baby. It's $5 not $5000.

Well, he paid for something, so he SHOULD receive it no matter what. Right? He would be stupid to say "Oh I paid for it, but it's just $5 so it doesn't matter if I get it."

Either alot of you guys are kids or just pure fucking ass holes who never get any pussy.

The $5 clearly wasnt the problem but the principal of the matter...

Come down off your high horses.. Stop talking like you all are guru's or making a real living with only IM, when in actuality you're still skeeting dog water.

    SMH.

elocin, id love to show you i really would. This is a learning curve, you pay $5 for a vps you are bound to see slow speed, issues with support whatever that's how it goes i'm afraid.

Also, i make my living from IM, do you... doubtful

I agree concerning your attitude of getting what you pay for. I personally would never buy a VPS for that cheap. if it smells like fish, it normally is. With that said people could have conveyed that exact same sentiment without being a jerk. Sometimes, members here show who they really are.. ie... like some of the post above. That was my point so to speak.

Additionally, i understand there is a learning curve to IM just as it is to most profitable things in life. The OP wasnt asking for something that could be found via search or google. He was just sharing an experience he had.. Given its debatable that he had it coming but that still doesn't give people a right to be a total jack ass. And let be known I do not know the OP... Just making an observation.

And to answer your question about my occupation, no I do not rely solely on IM for my income. I never claimed to be an IM guru or expert. I have been a web designer for the last 10 years and SEO consultant for the last 3. In the IM realm I consider my knowledge a little above average but by all means am I an "expert".

If you do IM full time and are able to support yourself soley on that income, I congratulate you. Maybe we can dialuoge further about IM in the future.

    Cheers.
    I Wish you the best.

Im the same, it doesn't matter if its only $5, its your $5 that you earned and gave to him in good faith.

The annoying this is feeling like they're laughing at you, they probably scam 100's of people regulary and make good money off it using different domains also.

I expected all to learn from this instead of saying it is a common $5. Even if he has fallen for a $5 scam, it is a message for the rest that you should not make the same mistake. He should even be thanked to have had the boldness to post it here for all to see. Scam is everywhere everyday and if you don't learn from his mistakes, any of you may fall for something like that one day.

Of course, he made a mistake. But that is normal in every human being. We make mistakes and we will all continue to make mistakes. Nobody is a genius. If you are scolding him for having lost $5, maybe your own loss will be $500, $2000 or even thousands of dollars more. Thanks for sharing this. I had something to learn from it, even though I have been in IM for many years.

Whenever I asked to withdraw money, they ignored my emails. I recently asked them to use my affiliate commissions to pay for an invoice, but instead of doing so, they removed my VPS, and asked me to show proof that I had that much collected. After showing them I was still able to log in and had my earnings, they claimed it was all fraud.

That's what you get for 5$ a month. Not to mention, every day they took the VPS down for maintenance. :|

I agree. $5 is not much but it adds up if they have multiple customers who are unhappy with their service and don't do anything about it because it is just 5 dollars.

It does not matter if he paid $5 or $100. He did not get what he paid for. They claim they can provide a certain service for that amount, and are unable to hold up to it on their end. Its bad business. He deserves a refund. Just because he bought something because he thought it was a good deal doesn't give anyone the right to insult him.
