    Hi Y'all,

I did a search here and nothing came up.

To make good vids, you need good sound. I have heard that some people use certain tricks with headset mics to make their voice deeper or raspier ..

but i was wondering what people in here use for podcasts and audio tracks for vids. Do you use separate ones for just recoding next to your computer, then a lapel for recording 'talking head' video? I am after a cheap multipurpose option that works.

I am looking at the logitech desk model as that seems to be the only 'special purpose' usb mic around.

    Anyone views?

back again, with a follow up.

Do you guys use headsets, desk top or lapel mics? Are there any advantages over one or the other in sound quality or ease of use?

If no one makes video with voice overs, I would be surprised. Just would like to know .....

this is white hat isnt it?
again, why a headset rather than the desk model? Does the logitech come in a usb headset? I am looking at perhaps holding this too and speaking into it on video, which might look better with a desk model than a headset?

I am asking these questions as this is the first time I am using a mic and looking for experienced (with the mic) people to give some insight. Thanks though for your brief input ...
