VidIQ False Keyword Results?

So I've noticed many many times that VidIQ gives vastly different results in the keyword research section:

When it gives a result for a low competition keyword/good score and I then click on that result about 7 times out of ten it changes to something else like high competition/poor score.

I did a quick search on google and here/reddit/etc and have noticed many others having the same problem - So what's the best solution for keyword research/implementation if VidIQ can't be relied on?
