I know having unique written content is very important.
How important is it to have a unique video?

Video content is so effective in marketing one's value proposition. Also, it is the most effective way to show a product in action.

You don't need "unique videos" on your site as they will more than likley published on YouTube and embedded anyway. Google will have a preference for showing the YuoTube version of your video anyway. The only reason you'd want "unique" videos, is not for SEO purposes but to avoid copyright infringement implications.

If you take someone elses video and just publish it on your site, your site will get no credit for it, but won't be penalized either.
