I've received this message for a few videos. The videos I'm downloading from Youtube and reuploading (diff information but obviously YT is reading the video itself to see that it's not my own) and is owned by a third party.

How do I side-step this issue. Any recommendations?

This message does not mean that YouTube detected your video as "stolen". It means that YouTube detected that you used copyright protected content from somebody else somewhere in your video.
As example, if you would make a "let´s play" video about Pokemon X, you would receive this message because some content of your video belongs to Nintendo (the game-play and the game-audio).
The message "Your video is available and playable." means that the owner of the content allows people to use it in their videos as long as they acknowledge that they indeed used content of that company.

After you clicked that you acknowledge the claim you can keep the video online and you will see the message "acknowledged third party content" under the video in your video manager.

The video will remain online and you don't get any problems with it.

You can change the pitch on the audio, rotate the image, invert it horizontally, or add a filter to the image
