I am posting video pins on Pinterest, but they are getting only around 350 impressions or so. It's been approximately a month. My niche is fashion and beauty.

Should I keep posting video pins exclusively? Video pins supposedly have a higher rate of distribution. Or is Pinterest now like Google where it takes a while for your pins to gain traction?

how many pins did you post ? I don't know the powerful of this niche on Pinterest. Some niches grow faster than others. 1 month is very young in Pinterest. I give up posting for an account and few weeks later the impressions and cliks grow suddenly.
To me, photos are better than videos because you just have to click somewhere on the photo to be redirect on the website. While for the videos you need to click on the hidden url. bad ctr... Post photos instead videos. not too much and regularly. and be patient.

I think compare to video, Image has more impression. Your niche is fashion and beauty. So it is easy to put image to attract viewers compared to video. Put attractive more images to gain traction for your site.

For me I find video has a much lower impression rate, and extremely poor click through rate (i.e. click to website). So personally I wouldn't do video pins exclusively...but I wouldn't stop doing them either (I still do them). It's always best to have a variety of image (including gifs) and video pins. But keep tracking engagement to see what your audience seems to prefer and then do more of it.

I get a lot more impressions on video than on images. Ideally from 10 to 1000x more!
I've reach about 30 milions impressions/months mainly pubblishing video pins. Of course video are less clicked than images, so the click ration is lower.
I have and handfull of video with more than 2'800'000 impression and only 500 clicks.

Hey guys.

So it's been about a month and I've been posting more images over video pins. My clickthrough rate has increased by miles and my follower account doubled.

Pinterest is a marathon, not a sprint, especially if you're trying to play by the rules (which I am - I don't want to get suspended). I'm going to keep posting this way from this point forward.

Thank you all for your advice.
