I'm looking to create a site like putlocker or sockshare where user's can sign up and upload video content to the site and visitor's can also watch content on there. I need some advice.

Is wordpress the best way to go? I've taken a look around for some themes but i can't find any that seem suitable for this sort of site. Would i then have to use a video plugin to enable user's to submit video?

Any help would be greatly appreciated by me.

    Thanks in advance. :)

Whether or not WP is a good option for this would probably depend on your level of coding knowledge and/or experience with Wordpress. If you want to just combine a bunch of pre-made plugins, WP may be a good fit. That's really the benefit of WP is that you can find things already built for it and integrate them with relatively little effort. Same thing with Joomla or some other content management system however with so many people using WP and so much documentation out there for it, you would probably want to stick with that as a CMS.

If you are a good coder then it probably won't matter what you go with as you can bend it to your will.

Have you tried building your own plugin? Here is a good tutorial. It is centered around building a plugin to upload images however it could easily be modified to include or video as the target upload object.

This post has some really great options for video themes that could give you ideas on how to make it look. They cost money so it may not be economical if you aren't going to use them.

    Hope that helps,
