Hi which country are you in i have been having page 1 results in the US although based in the UK
i'm also interested in this topic because i cant get my bands to the top. i just want to keep update with the the new stuff that comes out to help youtube video to to the top. is the a pay site where they can look at your video has the right/perfect keywords in the title/description/tags?
What search are you going for? The quality of view time vs video length is required to rank a video very high. If the views are 30 seconds on a 3 minute video, it will get outranked and beat down by videos that have higher view retention and more time. Simple solution is to buy higher retention views and add some likes comments and a small amount of subscribers to boost the video on YouTube rankings. As for Google, go with backlinks of high quality. Also, why don't you try to build up some social properties and market the bands that way to get more of a community focus.

i tried to change the title/description/tags and I'm not sure what is up. If you search the the band "marshall railroad" the video doesnt load up. The video the loads up is the producer/video editor comes up but that only has 180 views. the same video under my bands youtube page, has over 8,500 views. i am doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what

I am pretty sure changing your tags can reset or affect your rank. I remember reading that on this forum when I was first getting into YT. I'm not 100% sure... maybe let your video cure for a few days and see if it starts ranking again.
You have a lot of views, but are they quality views? What I mean is, did they watch the video 25% through or 100% until the end?
I see you have a lot of likes and comments which is usually very helpful in ranking your video, so I can see why you are so frustrated because user engagement is usually the key to outranking your competition. It looks like you're on the right track. One thing I always recommend to people is to use the Closed Captioning and Annotation features that YT offers. Using those features certainly will not affect your rank in a derogatory manner.
I'm not sure if using a URL shortener in your description can hurt your rank. I tried to look it up but couldn't find any info. Maybe someone else can touch on that.
