Yeah adsense is terrible on tumblr unless you have massssive traffic. I would go for CPA programs. Do reviews of amazon products and post a link to the product in your review via amazon affiliate. sign up for individual affiliate programs like Rodale books or others that publish weight loss books and programs, tumblr chicks seem to all be obsessed with weight loss. The dudes are all obsessed with gaming and smoking crap. So try some of those.

Didn't think I was jacking your thread just by talking about something related that would go hand in hand with your original post. Just wanted to get feedback from folks who are obviously interested in the same subject matter.

If you are willing to run it 24hrs to get visitors from all over the world then 12-16 works well. If you are only trying US traffic (like i do) I do between 8-12 pics between the hours of 9am - 11pm (i'm in US timezones).
About every 3rd day or so switch it to only 2 pics for that day. For some reason when i do that my traffic goes up. I haven't figured out why yet, but on the days I switch it to 2 pics after doing 8-12 the other days... the followers and traffic goes up. However, if you leave it at only 2 pics then your followers become uninterested and unfollow.
Maybe the day it does 2 pics it gets the page into search more effectively or something. I haven't pinpointed why it does it, but it does it.

Does @dsense work well on Tumblr? Does Tumblr or G mind if you use @dsense on a Tumblr blog?

You can use adsense and other PPC, but you have to push a TON of traffic for AdSense to be worthwhile. It converts terrible. Although I suppose it matters how concentrated your niche is. If you just do a basic picture blog of all kinds of things.. terrible conversion. AdSense is a tough one for Tumblr if you don't pick a great niche.

The blog I'm going to throw @dsense on is targeted on a specific niche. So I'll try it out and see how it goes.
I have 2 other Tumblr blogs also, but they are adult related niches with dating offer banners on them. However, nobody ever clicks through on the banners. :-(
What other PPC companies would you suggest as @dsense alternative just in case?
