SM Video Cutter Max is also pretty good as a converter, that also has a built-in cutting function allowing you to both convert and cut out a clip of a video in one pass.

I'm using http://www.winxdvd.com/hd-video-converter-deluxe/, and it works OK. Seems to have a lot of options, most of which I don't understand. But I'd rather have a converter that makes the transition to burning to CD/DVD in one move, so I don't have to launch another program and find the converted file, then burn it, etc...

There are many good video converters are available on Google like 'any video converter', 'total video converter'.
Mostly I use total video converter.

I could recommend Splash PRO EX. It's quite good software for video creation and video converting.
