Hi All,
i wanted to start posting videos to youtube. I have camstudio. Is this the best free software or are there others?
I have seen youtube videos where the video follows the cursor, does anybody know which software this could be?
Thank you

Camtasia is a good choice for you.I use Movie Maker also, which is good for YouTube videos.

Free.. there aren't that many options and it really depends on what kind of videos you want to post.
Powerpoint can export to video, using a .wmv extension...
Videoscribe from Sparkol could be an option and might trick some people into thinking it's a real scribe video...
VideomakerFX just launched with a huge bang and it's cheap but it's limited capabilities are nowhere near After effects...

Sure, there are expensive, professional ones, but i don't think that i need to mention them.

I feel like using animoto.com or directly using by adobe after effect

adobe after effect is so powerful ! but it's hard and u need time to get used to it.

Cam Studio records - but the trouble is, it doesn't edit. So the advantage of Camtasia is that you can zoom, add effects, transitions - fade in, etc - slow motion, etc etc. With Cam studio you are very limited.

Strangely, Camtasia is quite a lot cheaper on the Mac. So if you happen to have an (expensive) Mac, at least you'll get Camtasia cheaper.

The other free screen recorder is Debut. Then there's Jing, limited to 5 minutes.

Windows movie maker has a few, very limited, editing tools.

Camtasia and Snagit, both works well for me.

Camtasia is pretty nice, though if you're looking for a free alternative i'd suggest cam studio.

Camtasia has just saved my life after messing around for the last 5 hours trying to find a good video editing software. Imovie nearly had me in tears as every time I tried to add audio it would delete it after 30 seconds and couldn't complete my sales video.

Been using Camtasia for 7 years already and never disappoints so definitely recommend on my side!
