You can do some pretty neat animations in AE. Is nothing a beginner (well) can do without putting in the time but if you have experience animating you will caught up eventually. AE and illustrator for animation is a pretty good combination

Yeah After Effects is kinda advanced but I find it very good.

EasySketchPro is cheap animation hand draw style you need. Its much easier than videoscribe and you can DIY absoluately.

I think cinema 4d is the best.
I've tried most of the softwares mentioned on this thread. The best software would depend on what type of video that you are planning to produce. I suggest to watch sample videos for each software on Youtube and determine which type of video you need. I am videographer offline and a level 2 seller on Fiverr selling video production gigs. Try to check my Facebook group "Videographers Worldwide" for it provides most of the tutorials and softwares mentioned above. I hope this will help you.
