Vibe coding

I understand those who use vibe coding and do not condemn them, as it is quite convenient and saves development time, but I still believe that fundamental knowledge in the field of IT, including knowledge of a specific programming language, will not be superfluous, as, for example, you will have a much deeper understanding of IT and will be able to improve the security of the application or service you are developing (without certain knowledge, on the contrary, there is a risk that the service or application will be unsafe in some ways)

Yes, it's possible, but it's difficult and many security issues can arise. However, in reality, you can write a project with vibe code and it will work.
 
Not exactly vibe coding but I've used AI assistant to write bits and pieces of code and develop complex apps one feature at a time. It's tedious and boring by the time we reach middle of the project. I almost gave up multiple projects because it's exhausting. Vibe coding may work for small apps but if you have ambitious projects, it's better to manually create them or hire a developer.
 
Ai writes 99% of my code now.

I have never been able to produce so much of results in so short time.

I am also quite new in the vibecoding space. Did you manage to start a new project already?

A friend of mine has launched his own (High Ticket) GEO Automation SaaS and it works really well. I do not share the same opinions as some people above regarding that vibecoding is only for the most basic things. I saw with my own eyes what is possible and now i'm also working on a great project.

Senior full stack dev here, the tools which actually create files, do TS and curl etc themselves are pretty damned impressive, the days of programmers writing syntax are over.
Caveat, theyre expensive, they need handholding, they do some dumb thing, you must understand what it spits out, else it will be a halucination festival, make no mistake, you must understand the full stack, you must know where to intervene and why, you must understand security and architecture, all of which is not easy. The tools are incredible, but not flawless.

It is also perhaps a bit difficult for teams to work on the code becuase documentation, assignment and such things.

Degugging can be very obscure.

And they sometimes fail at very easy things, which is also crazy.

Thank you for your insights. You make some very valid points regarding the need for supervision and understanding the architecture.

As a beginner currently relying entirely on Gemini for 'vibecoding', I want to make sure I build good habits early on. Do you have any specific tips or advice on how to minimize mistakes or spot hallucinations when one lacks that deep technical background? I’d appreciate any guidance on how to verify the output effectively.

Well, right now, the thing has moved some API keys which someone hardcoded into the front end to ....nowehere.....I told it to hide them, which would of course mean into .env and the gitignore, but it is nowehere to be found. Such kind of things happen even if supervised, I assumed itd do the right thing, like any human would have.

I do not know, since theres dozens of things that can be critical, maybe start a HAF or WTB tutorial and we take 2 hours or so to show you around as good as can be.
 
I would not call it full vibe coding, but as I do have experience in data structures and project architecting, AI can easily fill the gaps. I have pushed dozen projects profitable and autonomous with just ChatGPT or claude.
 
as a professional experience in development field , i must say code created by AI is very hard, to debug bcuz ai only focus on goal oriented it fails in between process which are so crucial , ai dosent know when and where to stop tha, vibe coded apps are so vulnearable and cant handle real users but if you are some juniour dev please dont rely on vibe coding you will end up making bad dev. it will only ruin your career.
 
a directory website. i think its really good but havn't tested the payment structure yet.
 
I recently (on jan) found out that antigravity is free (with Google pro acc it has higher limits). Before that I used replit paid almost 200$ for 2 half done projects.
So I downloaded those to projects and completed them with Antigravity.
So far I made:
-Reddit post hunter (finds posts with 0 or 1 comments)
-Auction copier (copy car datas into my website)
-Shorts/Reels analyzer (Analyze trending videos in given niche and make blueprint)
-Custom ytdlp (Tired of using it on cmd, so created UI for it with custom options)
-Ebook/Book writer (ongoing, not just regular book writer it has multiple levels of lets say refiner)
also few failed projects hehe.
And made 2 wp websites (got Ai assistance with custome codes)
And still earned 0$ haha (useless tools huh??)
 
Video coding is not necessary project need much attention recent with the invention of ai video content generator which can generate any kind videos include manga with script compose.
 
Former StackOverflow copy/paste coder turned Vibe Coder here. There's nothing wrong with it, if you already have a good idea about the basics, vibe coding is the way to go. Everything I shared here on BHW has all been vibe coded.

I will work with other vibe coders for fun and profit, I use Claude Code max myself.
 
I love vibe coding, it helps me be productive at my work. I have build internal tools that can help me, and im still amaze
 
I know a SaaS that does 8 figures in dollars yearly, and is all created with AI. They do have a senior lead developer by now, but he whole SRC was created through vibe coding.
