Hi guys. Clickbank newb here. So I tried the new clickbank product 'The Cat Bible' and I tried two hosting sites to use the landing page they provided. I am very tech savvy, but never had dealt with hosting. So they ended up charging me $60 $60 $40 $40 because I tried two sites. They are going to be refunding it because I couldn't understand how to use it and wanted to smash a wall in. So I searched all of these forums and am still confused.

My question is: as a newbie , what can I do to start out without losing my bank account.

So is your complaint that your hosting was too expensive? Or were you confused on how to get your landing pages onto the hosted sites?
 
If your looking for decent, affordable hosting, just grab a $5 plan from hostgator. That is more than enough to throw up a clickbank landing page.
 
It might be that the nameservers aren't connected if you bought the domain on a different site. Some hosting companies are less than outstanding so it could be that as well. Then there's the part of finding the right file to edit which is usually in your public html folder.

You can message me if you need a second opinion.
 
Try out one of those free web hosts like Freehostia. You won't have the fastest server speed or the best uptime in the world, but you'll be able to get your site started without worrying about the cost of hosting.

The only problem you might run into is that they won't allow you to upload large files (I think 15 MB).

The fastest and easiest way to make money just starting out is to start a lead generating business.
 
Thanks guys. I was initially confused on how to get a hosting site working, but was mad when they took out an entire years worth of money of their service out of my bank when it said billed annually. Anyways, I am looking for a way to use clickbank and a free hosting service to start making some extra money.

To be honest, it said ' billed at the end of the year. ' But maybe I should have read the fine print. They probably will take 2 weeks to give me my refund, but I learned my lesson.

Billed annually means once per year and you will be hard pressed to find a company that won't require it up front but you can easily find a monthly hosting for $5-$10 per month.. try Siteground, Bluehost (not my favorite but they are cheap), or Fatcow. A tip on Fatcow if you load something into your cart and put your email in and then abandon they will send you an offer for a year worth of hosting for $22 or so. Good luck!

Idk much about free hosting.. can't imagine it can handle much traffic.

Here's what I'd do man.. signup for mail chimp (AWeber has 1 free month)

Throw up a wordpress.com site to host your squeeze page.. collect your opt ins there.

Set the sign up thank you page to route to a hubpages site where you have a review of your initial product.

Setup your auto responder sequence to send offers related to your niche.

Then start article marketing until your fingers bleed.

i have use most of the well know host, but most are sucks

the one i like most is web host face (google it yourself)
