I don't know about you, but for me the idea of passive income has always been fascinating. Think about it- isn't the idea of making money while you sleep pretty awesome? There are many ways to generate passive income, with some being more effective than others. Some examples would be creating a content site with ads, investing money, and getting referrals for a program. This method will be covering getting referrals for a program. There are some great programs out there that give high referral bonuses. If you know of one and have a good idea then great, use it. If not, don't worry I'll post some later on.
There are many ways to do this, but I've found a few ways to be the most effective. Writing an article about the program can be great and work quite well, but it does require some knowledge about SEO, KW research, and link building. I don't really like doing this, but it can yield great results if you put some time into it. Here's the thing though- just sticking your ref link in an article and talking about the program isn't going to earn you much money. Sure you'll get some referrals, but if you don't teach anyone a way to make money with the program then you won't earn any money either.
Think about the posts you see on BHW of people trying to get referrals- the people who just post check out this program (ref link) get banned. But the people who give a good, in depth method with a ref link or two get thanked, +repped, and probably get quite a few referrals. What you need to do is make a connection with your reader in some way. The good thing is that 95% of the time the reader on your page is trying to make money.
So the first step is to find a program to promote (look below) and find a method or some kind of tips for it. Now we need to create a site about it. Using a free site works fine. I would suggest Weebly because it offers more options than Blogger. This site is only going to be one page and will only have one article. This article is extremely important! You don't need to worry about SEO or anything because we will be driving traffic to it. The best thing to write about is something that will get your readers excited. Don't make it look like your typical spammy page, make it look like a typical, nice- looking website.
Spend a LOT of time making sure this article is perfect!!!
The title here is key. Use words and phrases that get you as an IM'er excited.
Some good words are:
autopilot
passive income
$XX an hour
_____ Method
Those are some words and phrases that would make me want to keep reading the article. There are many other words and phrases to use that would work. Make a good title- that's the important part. Now do a good job explaining to your reader exactly how they can make money, how easy it is to setup, how much they could make, basically anything that's a true statement that will make them want to sign up. Make sure you give them the method and give them numbered, step- by- step directions. At the end tell them that it will take a bit of hard work, but that they can do it easily if they're willing to put the work in.
Sorry if that last step was too specific- I'm sure that most everyone on here knows how to do that, but I wanted to help the newbs. Anyways, now we have a good website with a good article promoting our program. Now we need to drive traffic to it in one way or another. The best ways to do this are:
Make a post about it on a moneymaking forum. There are plenty of them out there, just look for them. Here's the catch- you need to make it look like you're GIVING them something and not just trying to get referrals. There are multiple ways of doing this. One way is to create a "PM Me" thread if those are allowed. Just say "I have a method that makes me ______. It involves using ______. PM me if you're interested". You could also title a thread "Giving away my method for making money with _____" Whatever you do, make it look like you're giving them something.
Another option is to advertise on PTC sites and traffic exchanges. If you made a good website with a good title and article, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting referrals. People who use traffic exchanges want to make money, so all the visitors are semi- targeted. I know, sitting there and surfing through ads is extremely boring, and no one wants to do it. However, there's a trick that can help you reduce the amount of time you spend doing it. This is a pretty simple trick and I'm sure that some of you have heard of it before.
What you do is you sign up on a bunch of the best traffic exchanges. A lot of them offer splash pages. Now use the credits you earn on each traffic exchange to promote your ref link for the other traffic exchanges. Either use their splash pages or create your own. If you create your own, make sure you outline the benefits of the traffic exchange you are promoting.
What I like about doing this is that this method can eventually become autopilot. Think about it this way:
Let's say you only signed up for 2 traffic exchanges- traffic exchange A and traffic exchange B.
Now you do a lot of surfing on A and earn a lot of credits which you use to promote B. From this you get 3-4 referrals for traffic exchange B who each earn you some credits. Now you use these credits to promote traffic exchange A and you get a couple referrals for it. You can repeat this process until you are racking in the credits.
This takes a lot of start- up time but becomes more and more autopilot as you keep doing.
You'd be surprised at how many people are willing to sign up for your site. Last year I was messing around and promoting a GPT and I ended up getting 3 referrals from 1000 credits (views). Think about how many referrals I could've gotten if I was promoting a traffic exchange which is more targeted!
Anyways, once the credits from refs start flowing in, start promoting the site you originally made.
