Also, I wouldn't tell your daughter that she is gonna have a shitty christmas. I'd tell her that some horrible person that has problems took your stuff because they "seem" to need it more than you.

Also... Nothing better than realizing what christmas is actually for - Family time.

They had to have a moving truck for you stuff. They would have also been casing the joint to look for a pattern of your daily comings and goings. Did you notice any vehicles parked in the street that aren't there now? Do you have people that you know, come to your house without calling first? Is there an easy way for a neighbor to carry something out of the back door and take it to their house with ease and shade? You should question and warn your neighbors...

I got robbed too but i didn't have much. He took a playstation 2 and some games. He was looking for the weed but the idiot didn't look under the chair cushion in the bedroom. He tossed everything except that one chair and he would have gotten 2 pounds of dank. It was someone that my roommate meet in the neighborhood and he use to come over without calling or anything. A few times he would just open the door w/o knocking. Needless to say, he got dogs called on him and wasn't able to enjoy his new playstation for a while.
 
I feel your pain brother, god bless you and hope there's a silver lining in all of it.

Mine was broken into on Christmas eve, while visiting family, my daughter was 3 and it was pretty much the first christmas a child can remember. Worst part about it was it was without a doubt someone we knew on my wifes shadier side of the family. Went in for one thing, my safe. I had my wedding ring in there, due to my work, didn't want it dirty or dinged up or lost and a few other personal items. They thought they were gonna get my cash stash, but I moved it thank god.

Luckily, they left everything else, but having my wedding ring gone sucks! Paid alot for that sucker, sentimental value of it and all too, not to mention cops at the house on christmas eve, glad my mom took the kiddies and let us deal with it.

But, yeah the cops are pretty much worthless when it comes to a robbery, unless you're a banker. No prints dusting, just report, they wouldn't even investigate them. They also broke out the side basement window with a house about 15 feet next door.

I feel ya, just keep your head up and do the best you can, they all get what they deserve in the end.
 
Sorry this happened to your family....at least no one was hurt. Keep detailed records of all serial numbers and receipts and photo docs for recovery efforts by the police... In case the stupid people that robbed you try to return the products somewhere or pawn them.... You can keep them online in storage somewhere for less paper mess and future reference... Plus, having the paper receipts saved is a good thing, but no telling what they would steal from that too.... LOL... Sorry for the bad humor, but we wish you a merry Christmas all the same.. Hope you can get some of what you lost back.

I was going to say that and am usually on top of it, but the situation is understandable man. It's hard to express my condolences, and it's understandable that he didn't care to go out of his way putting dots and commas.

Some of us have been lucky enough to learn from other people's mistakes and get home insurance and an alarm system. This will be a lesson for me. Unfortunately, you will have learned the hard way. Do make sure you get that protection though, because you never know if it may happen again.

Man, I love how young kids can say all sorts of wise things - perhaps not intentionally, but I know that enough people who are like 16-17 would go nuts if they were expecting presents and didn't get them.

OT: Sorry for your situation man, I don't know how it feels - but I can imagine it's pretty fucking shitty. I'm just curious what the hell the crime rates are in most U.S. states, seems like crime is pretty widespread. I live in London, and everyday it's starting to get more and more like some ghetto places in the U.S., I guess I'm lucky that I live West London, most areas north, east and south are full of domestic crime.

POLICE SUCK. they do not care at all.
i will never forget the first time i dealt with this
and how the police did nothing and didnt care.
they stood around and joked. i was amazed.

my friend had his car stolen, they caught the guy RED HANDED, and because he went a couple states away, they wouldnt do anything. yep, you are free to steal cars as long as you make it out of state.

another time someone ran their FREAKIN car into my house. i saw the guy. it was a very obvious car too. 7 police cars show up i provide them tons of info and not one of them got into their car to look.

in some states you are 100% no questions asked
allowed to shoot MF'ers that come into your house.
(just dont do it in the back)

seriously, it is affordable to get a decent alarm with cams.
and if you cant afford it, then get FAKE system!
put signs up that say video surveillance, fake cams, etc

unless your rich, famous, or political, cops will do NOTHING for you
they figure your insurance will pay and if you dont have insurance then thats YOUR fault.
