Very Excited - Backlink from the BBC

Without going into too much detail, I recently contacted the BBC about one of their articles. I've just had a phone call from a lady there who says they would like to get a reporter to contact me to discuss my issue, to do an article on their website. When I mentioned my company name, she did say that I may get a link!

Considering the high PR of the BBC site, and the sheer volume of readers I am VERY excited.

Had to share my good news with someone!

It's good to hear about some truly white hat backlink building. Sometimes, making the effort to contact someone can get a link that's pure gold.

It used to be possible to spam the bbc blog, but recently it's become almost impossible as they see to have tripled their moderation efforts.
 
Don't count your chickens before they hatch, but congratulations if you do happen to receive this =]

I once got a backlink from Fox News and traffic skyrocketed. However; the traffic surge did not last more than a couple of days so have a plan in place to capitalize quickly.

I completely agree. Just like everything - it will get archived and will pretty much disappear within a month! But hey, huge congratulations and I wish you the best of luck! :D
 
if you pull it off,Google is going to get a huge signal telling your site can be trusted.

"You might get a link"... I felt for that twice when I send some pictures to some newspapers and they said that will provide the source....
