I have a keyword list I got for keywords for me to rank for. I have a question on the words and there results.

Lets say this is for Keyword #1

I have:
Broad Searches
Phrase Searches
Exact Searches

Then I have SEO Traffic

Broad
Phrase
Exact

Now of course the "Broad" will have more results then 'Exact" BUT my question is when first starting to rank for certain words WHAT do you start out with first?

Is it the biggest amount in Broad?
Is it the biggest amount in Exact?

If the exact is less then 10 is it worth to try and rank for it?

How do you determine what is worth to rank when choosing your keywords.

Also this is NOT for making money with adsense this is for traffic for a product website.

Like to hear all aspects please

I don't even pay attention to broad. Exact is where it's at.

and for your question is 10 exact searches per month good?

Well if your selling a product it really depends, but probably not since considering you get top spot this is 0.33 visitors per day which sucks.

Good luck

do you mean "10 exact searches per month good" or do you get like <10 that in the search?

it all depends on the product as well, it its new then people are not yet searching for it, it is old you should look at the history searches for the keyword to see how the past months went, low searches could mean low demand = low income .

you will be targeting laser targeted customers so it dose not have to an extreme amount of people searching for it, let me know if I can help / clarify more !

well my lowest amount is 1000-500 for a product (broad) - keep in mind if its a quiality product then there will be quality buyers, would you buy it? do people need it? just a few more thoughts that you should think of when looking for products / keywords in my world , good luck yea !

hmm I think 10 very very low even if u r selling 200 dollars product. at the moment
I am also targeting 58 monthly searches (my 3rd highly targeted keyword).

Thanx..my product is music related so its a very tight niche. Im doing so so on orders based on the keywords I rank now but always like to be on top for others.

For instance one keyword is 95 broad and 24 exact BUT the keyword seems to me at least should have TONS more results. Given the fact its at 95/24 is it worth to build links to rank for?

1. Always search for "exact." There are dozens of good KW research threads on this board, use the search button.

2. If the exact is less than 10, no I would not try to rank for it. Do your KW research before you start a site, it's probably the most important thing.

3. To determine what to rank for, use a gxxgle search.

"keyword" Gxxgle search: "30-50K"
&start=990: Less than 600-700 pages in total
intitle"keyword": Less than 30,000
inurl"keyword": Less than 30,000
inurl"keyword"intitle"keyword": To see SEO competition.

Then use Majestic SEO, Traffic Travis or MS to get an accurate competition gauge.

Do your KW research. It's probably the most important thing to do in SEO. If your keyword sucks, no amount of SEO will make you good money.

Good luck! xoxo:D

Exact match is the key value to look at. However, I would say that 10 searches per month is too low.
