Hi Guys and Girls,
I'll keep this very short and sweet. I've done a search of the forums and haven't been able to find a definitive answer so I'll simply ask it here:
Is cloaking and iframing harmful to SEO efforts? i.e - Can cloaking an affiliate link/banner negatively affect my search engine rankings directly?
My specific scenario:
I have a dating site and have affiliate banners within my content and on the sidebars. I'd like to cloak my affiliate links and put their landing page somewhere on my site; both of these things have been OK'ed by my affiliate manager.
After working hard to get my niche site onto Page 1 for several keywords the last thing I want to do is stuff it up by going in and doing something like this without educating myself on it first.
Any constructive feedback is welcomed.
Please note that, yes, I have done a search for this information. I found a lot of previous threads where people have just been flamed left and right and I got sick of reading what could have been helpful resources decline into a war of words.
