Verifying Facebook Pages?

I have been advised to verify my Facebook fan page before making any money off it.

1) It is a community "fun" page.
2) I have searched, and still not found any way to verify the page.

Does such a thing exist? What are it's benefits and why should I do this?

Wait until facebook contacts you asking to verify it. It allows you to continue to post status updates

I have not yet received any emails from Facebook and it has been a week since the page has been created.

It can be upto 100k fan+

Well if they have not asked you, and there isnt a message on the fanpage, then you are alright for now. How old is the page?

I got a few nothing to big but ours are based by geography location.....we are using it to drive coupons in the coming weeks..our base is about 80000 in South Florida

So your page got 250k fans within one week? If so, that is AWESOME. There is no telling when FB is going to ask you to verify the page, but I would have a website already designed for when they do. Peter Shaw has released a tutorial on how to create a website for fan page verification purposes.

I am not sure what the URL of the thread is however; use the Search feature on the forum and you should be able to find it.

When facebook asks you to verify a page do they e-mail you or post a message on the fan page? Thank you Also, does anyone have a link to this tutorial? Thanks!
