I know I have to have publications and etc to be verified on Instagram. But Is there a certain number of followers I have to have to be considered for verification in 2020? I googled and it says I only have to have 10k followers. While some people tell me I have to have more than 35k because 10k is an old requirement dated back to January 2020.. but I’ve seen some accounts only have less than 5k and still get verified.. Does anyone know actual September 2020 requirements for follower count in this matter?

if you are asking, you ain't qualified enough to get verified. There's no black or white guideline to get the badge. If so, it will be literally worthless as everyone will have it.

Bottom line: if you aren't famous, you can't get verified.

I don't know how much followers you need to get verified , but there is some SMM panel that sell Verification Badge on IG
you can check.

Quantity does not matter. You have to be famous or connected(semi-famous) to get the blue tick.

Many people can easily promote/buy the followers but can't really get the blue tick.

the requirement of a certain number of followers is just a formality.

they probably payed the 7k to get the badge or knew someone or had the right connects. I'd just keep looking around maybe u can get it done for a lot less

And lots of scammers that try to sell you verification. You can check, too.

You don't have to be famous and you don't have to have a lot of followers.

When your name gets searched up on Google by those IG employees, they have to find credible information that you are a SOMEBODY. A wikipedia page, an article by Forbes, etc.

Nothing else matters. I've seen guys who are "professional soccer players" on some very small-time teams that nobody has ever heard of with 1000 followers, but because they have a wikipedia page its enough to be verified.

Well no, mate. If I’m asking, it doesn’t mean I’m not qualified, it just means that I’m wondering specifically about official Instagram requirements regarding the minimum follower count.

I’ve seen many panels selling such feature but I don’t really trust the panels with this matter.

Yeah well many unfamous people have verified accounts, it seems like there are more verified accounts on Instagram these days than just normal ones. Blue check seems almost worthless by now. Still there has been a change in official requirements and follower count matters to instagram now. That’s what I was trying to find out in this thread.

Yeah I’ve seen price ranges from 25k pounds for this service to 100.... a lot of options but I’m not interested in either. I was asking about follower count requirements.

Agreed, lots of scammers all around

Followers count does not matter much , i have seen profiles verified with less than 1k followers .

Main thing is strong press about you .

It used to be that follower count didn’t matter, now they say that they changed rules and it does. I just didn’t know the minimum I need. I’ve also seen those 1k verified accounts but they’ve been verified before the requirements changed

Press isn’t a problem for me and same goes for the Wikipedia page.. someone told me that in January 2020 it was much less strict about follower count than now. But I can’t find the official info that dates to September 2020 regarding the follower count requirements. Followers also aren’t a problem, it would just take time to get that done and I’ve no time to waste.
