It's actually a really great tool. You learn more about people in 10 min on vent than you did after 200 posts here...

Harro why don't you guys build a portal to get the users that are logged into the forum to log into chat similar to how facebook and myspace operate. Maybe I'm just not getting this but it would be sweet to just click a link and be connected to the chat portal.

It can be a bit much sometimes but the thing that I have learned is never click any link in ventrillo or you will go to a gross site that wont close.

I run gentoo, but I just used this

and it seems to have worked. I don't know about the mic though yet.

No you need to download the client only, you don't need to pay for that.
