Sorry, needed to vent. Heard from an old coworker that my previous supervisor is telling references that I "abandoned my job." I gave the employer a month's notice and worked my butt off to cover all the bases before I left. I'm just pissed because it isn't true and also because the supervisor is doing me that way. She hates working and loves to throw people under the bus. I've had two second interviews already and both potential employers were ready to offer me a position but i'm guessing the reference ruined that. I need a new field, hate this one and too much BS and not enough $$.
 
On a more productive note, try being upfront with it on your next interview. Present some kind of proof of how you worked your ass for the last month to be ok with your last job and just say something in the lines of "unfortunately, I 'm afraid my effort hasn't been valued at all". Make sure not to say anything bad about your previous employer. Nothing bad at all - very important. Simply stay on the "I tried so hard but sometimes people don't want to recognise it for their own reasons - well, a pity, but life isn't always fair I guess" story.
