Guys I'm promoting a product on cb as an affiliate and the vendor has a coupon code box on the cb order page. I've emailed them before about it and they told me that its a
clickbank thing and they can't disable it which sounds BS because no other cb product I promote uses it..

Basically I asked can they set up a landing page with an order form/page without it for affs to use. My problem is, visitors see the coupon code box - leave my site and look for a code landing on another affiliates site which they will then get rewarded the commission.

Surely there is a way or option for vendors to choose if they display it or not? I don't know because I'm not a vendor.

Anyone else have this concern?

Cheers

The coupon box is DEFINITELY NOT a clickbank thing - the vendor placed it there and he could easily have a page set up without it.

Sounds like the "other affiliate" providing the coupon is the vendor himself using an affiliate account, and this sounds like a 'good' scheme to shave his own affiliates.

Seems dodgy to me. Was converting very well for me, guess I will need to out rank their coupon page ;)
OR change products...

Ok so I emailed them again asking to please consider taking it down their support person which prob either doesn't know much about cb or maybe they own the coupon site I'm up against which is just one page sub domain.
This is what they said -
Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, every product that is sold through Clickbank has a coupon code box on the checkout page and this is something we cannot remove. We do thank you in advance for your support.
Kindly,
Support

I told them I disagree and have been promoting products on cb for 5 years. Then get this -
Thank you. We will look into this to see if it's something we can change. As of right now, there are no active coupons on our side for this product.
Kindly,
Support

???????????????????????????????????????????????????
So frustrating...I want to start promoting the shit out of this product!

This isn't even a new method for scamming affiliates at all. I'd simply look to do business with a more reputable vendor as this is clearly an attempt to steal commissions from affiliates. This must be because the product is crap and has too high of a refund rate for the vendor to sustain paying affiliates.

Super bogus. Find or CREATE a better product in his niche, and then just rake him back over the coals. That guy is a wicked deuche - scamming his own affiliates. No matter what you hear or read from here on out about it - just know you were right, and this guy is a complete jerk. I'd just take his niche right from him altogether for this very reason.

Well, they have some popular products on cb and thing is it converts really well for me. Refund rate is about 7% at moment and that's out of 300+ sales.

I know I am losing commissions though because I have a page targeting "product coupon" which is ranking 3rd my page tells people to visit my link to see if the coupon is still active(has made sales via that page) but there is "no coupon" even the vendor support says there is no coupon at all. I can see persons ranking #1 and #2 will be getting commissions from people leaving mine and other peoples sites though searching for the coupon.

Sucks ass! Worried if I change product it wont convert as good and I will have to change a lot of my copy which could also lose rankings :(

I've emailed them again(last chance kind of thing) and the aff support guy is going to see what he can do?
I know I'm losing sales because of this coupon box....ahhhhh so frustrating!

Going to change products if they don't. Just worried if I do, my conversions wont be as good! Hopefully they will be better...
