What additional work? Sellers already pay to upgrade their account and post sales thread right? So the deposit can be part of the process. Sellers put USDT into a BHW-controlled address and this is shown as proof to all buyers.
Once thread is closed, wait 30 days to ensure seller has not scammed anyone, then return money back to seller.
You are talking about a wallet that at any given time would hold hundreds of thousands of dollars to a million or more, so it needs to be a cold storage wallet or a wallet that is well secured, perhaps a multisig, etc.
Someone needs to handle the payments in and out, likely a high-level in-house mod or the owner himself due to the risks it carries, and a legal frame should be in place for confiscating the funds paid, agreements need to be drawn for this, and everything included.
That of course, if the security deposit is only crypto-based and I assume that maybe max 10% of the people here use crypto to upgrade and the rest are using PayPal or CC to buy JR.VIP and you cannot force everyone to use only crypto just like that - Accepting deposits via the "old school way" requires an entirely new infrastructure to be built for moving money and dealing with the cost of transactions, the risk of chargebacks, etc.
Only 3 sellers alone can push that so-called security deposit to more than $100,000
Take someone who sells editorial articles and two who sell social media verifications and that's more than $100K per your original calculations.
Such services (as well as escrow) require legal agreements and you are not allowed to take the money in without having a license.
There is no chance that payment gateways would let you move hundreds of thousands of dollars each month without taking transactional fees and doing extra security checks from the source of funds.. it's naive even to think of that, and there is no chance you can force everyone to use crypto.. it's just not going to happen.
Taking thousands of dollars of funds in, or even less, requires you to ID verify all the parties involved (exactly like it is with any escrow service)... everything takes resources and someone needs to be assigned to deal with these matters 24/7.
In the case of a dispute your legal team needs to get involved, who is handling the cost of that if you are not taking cuts from the funds paid? Should BHW cover that from their own pocket?
I have mentioned this before, there is a similar marketplace to BHW that operates escrow-based services only and they have had their fair share of lawsuits already which have resulted in them removing certain services altogether. So who is covering all the fees this involves??? Who is going to do all the work for free???
PS: I am all for better security but these ideas do not work, unfortunately. They need to revamp this entire thing to implement something seemingly that simple.. if you start doing research on it and look into everything that it requires, it's not going to be easy or feasible.
