VB vs ubot and winautomation - Which is better?

I tried searching for a similar topic, which I'm sure there is, but found nothing so I'll make my own thread.

I want to make a bot, maybe more in the future who knows. So the type of a project and the difficult that I want to make really shouldn't be the issue here. Both VB and ubot can be used to create some impressive stuff.

I was reading up on ubot and winautomation reviews and everyone is talking about a learning curve for that software. So my question is why wouldn't you just learn VB? How is ubot or winautomation worth the money that it sold for when VB is free?

This is not one of those threads "Oh anyone who buys ubot is a schmuck for wasting his money when VB is free!" I genuinely want to know because I'm deciding if I should buy ubot or just learn VB.

if your the type of person that can learn programming then use VB. If you cant then use one of the other tools.. simple.

Learning a language is always gonna be 10000x better than a tool, but some people just cannot pick up programming.. like me.:)

I promise this will be my last of the thousand threads I created asking for same thing as soon as you stop posting useless replies.

As stated previously, I couldn't find an answer to my question using search, that's why I made a new thread.
 
The learning curve in Ubot is virtually non-existent in comparison to learning VB. You will get far more power out of VB however. So if you have a good mind for coding, like dandan suggested, VB is the way to go if you'd like to dedicate yourself to building powerful bots. If you're just a random with limited knowledge and want to focus of other things, Ubot is pretty quick to learn.

Well looking at video tutorials of ubot I noticed it requires coding as well. Maybe not as much, but you still have to learn it to use the program I'm guessing.
 
UBOT - everyone says watch the videos in ubot and you will learn everything to get started

well to be honest - thats a crock of crap - as soon as I started making real usable bots - I was 10 steps ahead of the videos and struggling to find the pieces I needed to make it work

after help from a member here gogetta I was able to do the things I wanted and get a gmail and youtube creation bots done --- so yeah your right - you still need to have or build knowledge to solve the problems we come across here everyday ..... but I would buy UBOT in a heartbeat - because it can solve problems - save you time and money buying things.


VB is more advanced and you gotta be serious about moving in that direction.

VB is so inefficient - if you're going to learn a programming language, learn C# or something similar.

ubot is very good for creating web-based bots

winautomation is good for creating windows-app bots

So, it depends on what you want to do and how much time you want to invest. If you want to quickly build bots that do web-based activities in a browser, get ubot. If you want to quickly automate redundant tasks in Windows and windows apps like Office, get winautomation.

I'm thinking of getting it to handle the tedious tasks i.e. joining merchants on affiliate networks. How easy & quick would it be to build a bot? Would it take a week to learn about it, then a week to setup a bot? Cheers.
 
I am sure that this is not the answer you wanted to hear, but gregstereo is right... it depends. On my automated system, I run everything in three layers in order to spread the workload and to avoid crashes and to speed up processing at the same time. I use stand alone VB macros for most of the processes that utilize a single program, such as excel. I then use Ubot (or another web based bot) to do online functions such as account creation, and then I ties them all into a workflow with each other using winautomation. All of the three come with their own pros and cons, but I feel that using all of them (I am not an uber programmer either) is the only way to get the best of all worlds, and the adaptability to meet any obstacle. If you want to start on the web now, use Ubot, for data integration, use macros, for complete system tie in, use WA. To confuse you even further, there is a middle of the road solution, but also with a learning curve, IMacros and typitin. You can google them. Well worth checking into.

The other option is to say the hell with it and outsource. The ATM is the IM tool with the lowest learning curve, but the highest cost. VB is free, but has the highest learning curve. The other tools are in the mid.

If anyone's got a ready made linkshare, sharesale join-up bot they wanna outsource, pls let me know.

These are simple things, for example, taking text from a Google Doc and creating a Wordpress page all the way through automated Craigs List posting and Google local profile building.

VB is inefficient?? I disagree.

I have created hundreds of multithreaded, proxy supported and all advanced functions you can think of in VB.

As for ubot, it's a piece of crap.
 
Well, it doesn't matter what programming languages or scripts you are using, as long as you are mastering it, it would be the best tool.
 
Fast creation, easy to learn but somewhat limited -> Ubot
Not that easy but the sky is the limit -> VB, C#, Java, PHP

ubot is good , only good it can create simple bots not very complex once !! if u want to create complex learn delphi or vb !! i think delphi is best !! examples :- Xrumer , mailerking and lots other in delphi hope it helps !!

Yeah delphi's a pretty decent language too.
