VAT advice needed

They haven't committed fraud.

For VAT registered Partners: All Partner commissions are payable inclusive of VAT.

Im not yet registered as im below the threshold, so they are not inclusive of VAT yet, my mistake :)

So that's fine. Once you are registered, then they will pay you 20% more (rather than you taking a 1/6 cut). It has no net effect on their position because they would reclaim the VAT paid.

Once you are registered, you would need to provide your VAT number to any other network based in the UK and EU. The same goes for anyone you buy services from as they should no longer charge you VAT under reverse charge rules.

before you go , how does it work if you start to buying a service , i think you need to be vat registed or not is it same rules?

reverse charge rules just read it ,got it ....

Thanks so much for this mate, you have put my mind at rest, i thought i would be paying out alot more, and i really don't need that at the moment.

Yes, Exoclick currently charge me 242 euro instead of 200 euro as im not VAT registered, so it would benefit me with expenses like that.

Just another quick one, so the affiliate company pay me £11400 + £2800 Vat. I have paid out £400 in VAT myself for expenses for the business, would i only pay £2400 VAT?

Under the full registration, yes. If you have a lot of expenses, it will make more sense to go down the full registration route.

The reverse charge is a bit of a PITA btw. So you buy 200e of advertising with Exoclick and you don't pay the 20% once you've given them your VAT number. On your VAT return, you pay the 200e (reverse charge) but simultaneously reclaim it in your return so you're netting it off to 0. You have to do this in every return for each reverse charge, otherwise the VAT gets lost in the system and someone comes knocking.

Edit: I should add I had a major major falling out with Exoclick. They screwed up the reverse charge invoices and it caused me a problem with the tax regulator.

does that mean all tax and vat are not accesable on there computer from a registered accountant to stop problams ?

what the point having a vat number if the vat number not computer registered .

I don't hate you or look at you like scum.

You respond to a lot of threads with advice, when sometimes it's clear you don't have any knowledge about that subject. I understand you're trying to be helpful, but some of the things you say are actually unhelpful and if people follow them, they can end up with issues.

You don't need to master every single thing on here. Stick to certain things you really know and offer help there. If you want to learn about other things, then ask away.
