Value of Number Domains

I am seeing a lot of high priced domains like 88***4.com or 0*3*4.com in the domains auctions. What are people buying this kind of domains?

generally, numeric domains are wanted by Asian users and developers.
I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.
Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic and there is a real meaning behind each domain name sold in China. Without to be a specialist at numeric domain names hot domains seems to be those with 8 at the beginning and 7 or 4 at the end.

Indeed

Its very interesting. There is no value in domains i saw in auctions and money they spend to buy them starting from a few thousands. Sounded crazy to me and i said there must be something i am missing in this. Thanks for clarify
