Value of a 5k Following

I was lucky enough to get an IG acct from a friend who no longer wanted it, he stopped updated it about 3 months ago.

To date, was able to bring it up to a 5k following, avg 250 likes. Tech/mobile/app niches. Not amazing, I know but not bad considering I got a good starter acct for free (well not entirely... I owe him a case of beer)

I already had msgs asking, varying from $10 $25/shoutout for 24 hrs... caught me by surprise for only having it for a month and minimal upkeep/growth.

Seems like this is a good deal, but I don't want to lose the followers if they think I'm "selling out" - everything has been genuine/organic growth since this accts start.

Let me know what you think. Go for it or hold off?

Well, as long as you don't spam your account with 10 shoutouts per day, I don't see where the problem is. One shoutout per day is gonna be ok IMO

I'd say go for it but do your best to "blend" the shoutouts into your page. E.g. Instead of just showing a product as an ad, show it as a review and write why you like it etc.

If the shoutout requests are completely out of your niche then I wouldn't do it.

you got pretty decent offers for the amount of followers you have, so why not go for them as long as the shoutouts are to quality stuff and you don't do too many per day. 1-2 should be perfect and not annoy anyone.

Instead of selling shout outs, why don't you make youtube reviews of apps found on CPA networks?

You may not get much now but earnings will slowly increase if you continue to build up your account.

I'm definitely considering this, since majority of the profile is focusing on apps (vs tech/mobile in general)

I appreciate everyone's feedback - I'll take the leap and accept these offers, and hopefully the beginning of something good.
