well, google record everything you do on any page on their sites so on youtube they record if you play or stop that video, how long did you watch it, if you have sound on or off, where did you came from, if you click anything on the page, if the video was on the screen or if you scrolled down when it was playing, if the focus was on the youtube page or not (if you are actualy looking at tha page or the browser is on the win bar), if your IP/Proxy is blacklisted on their database... and many other things. It combines this factors (and many others that we don't know) and will validate or not that view ...
