He's looking to work at your own place, where he meets you personally, so if you don't own an office with several computers, you can't employ him with no salary.

The thread title says "VA" which implies virtual, i.e. work from their home, yet the OP mentions "intern". OP needs to clarify.
If he's working from your office, bear in mind that depending on where you live, there are employment laws to consider.
So it's a trade-off: you give your time to train the OP, while he get's up to speed. May turn out good, may not. You also run the risk off him running off for greener pastures after the training.
