I saw Epic had a promo last month where buying large bundles got you free bonus V-Bucks (or discounts) on some stores. Also keep an eye on console store sales (PS/Xbox/Nintendo) sometimes they run cheaper bundles than purchasing directly from Epic.

Epic is introducing a “buy just enough V-Bucks” feature (increments of 50 V-Bucks) to match what you need for your purchase instead of over-buying bundles. This will roll out on Android, iPhone, iPad, Nintendo, PC, Xbox, and web/item shop. - Epic Rewards / 20% Back Offers
Purchases made directly through Epic’s own payment systems in Fortnite (and some other Epic games) can give you 20% back in rewards. Basically making V-Bucks cheaper for people who use direct purchase vs going through platforms like Apple’s App Store. - Current Prices & Bundles
Here are sample deals (may vary by region):- 1,000 V-Bucks (base pack)
- Larger bundles: 2,800; 5,000; 13,500… etc through Epic / PC / consoles / Nintendo.
- Some bundles give small % bonus or “extra” depending on the pack.
