Utilizing Link Bait to Rank for Stubborn Keywords

There are two keywords that one of my niche site ranks high for, but is not the first search result. The saddest part is that I'm running out of ideas for building direct backlinks. So, the plan is to write a link bait article and link to those two articles in that article, so whatever pagerank the link bait article will catch, it will pass on to the two articles I want to rank number 1.

What do you guys think of this idea?

I think its worth a try.

I plan to publish the article on my own site. If it gets in the popular articles list, it will most likely help to reduce bounce rate as well.

Link bait nowadays works only if you're already an authority in your niche. If you're just starting out or you're not that well seen in the niche you're looking to rank, you'd better direct your efforts into Social Media, getting engagement from your fans and getting more of them. It will help you more.

UrsuAke, that's a close-minded way of looking at things. If you have a good site that offers some value, and is not annoying to the visitors, you can easily use link-baiting if you know how to get the ball rolling.

Thought I'll give you guys a little update.

So, I wrote a link bait article, and in that article I have 3 internal links. 2 of the links are for articles on my site that target keywords with rather high amounts of monthly searches, and one that targets a rather low competition keyword. Before I published the article, one of the articles was on the position 3 and the other one on the positions 6 on Google.

Now, though, the one that was 3rd, still is 3rd, the other one, though, is 4th. As the link to the article that now ranks 4th is at the beginning of the article, it probably gets the most pagerank out of it.

Also, the 3rd article I linked to in the link bait article, is now 5th. Before the link bait article, it was somewhere on the second page.

So, what happened? Well, by sharing my link bait article on niche specific forums and fan pages, I managed to attract 3 backlinks. It's not a lot, but as 2 of the backlinks are from pagerank 3 blogs with high DA and PA scores, it's seems to have helped quite a bit.

Also, by sharing the article on the niche specifc forums, I got a few ******** backlinks from the forums as well.

I don't plan to step here, though. I have quite a long list of forums I can promote this article on. It's just takes time to set up the accounts...
