I created a Yt video for a local site and embedded it on the home page of the site. It didn't take long for the site to reach 2nd position in G. The video was well optimized, using kw in the acct name, title, description, video file name, tags, etc. Also in the description I placed a link to the website.

Did the video need to be embedded on the website to get the link juice from Youtube? I'm guessing not but want to get confirmation from the more experienced. If not, I'll create more videos and rinse and repeat for more link juice.

Why not run a few more tests and make a case study yourself?

Also would like to see that case study if you do it.
I'd definitely try doing more YT videos for backlinks for my own websites.

I think that you don't need to embed the video to your website, because there's already a YT link pointing to you, you don't need to point back.

Considering YouTube is owned by google I could not imagine them giving more value to those links, because they are so ethical and all. My company runs serious adwords advertising and nearly every 2 weeks they call us trying to pimp out Google Plus..... There may me logic behind this madness?
