Using tor for likes/votes/reviews etc

I know how to use proxies. That is easy.

It's easy to write a script that utilizes a proxy. And automates everything you would do with a proxy.

Does anyone know if the same things can be done with Tor?

I know nothing about tor. Besides the fact that I have a browser installed and it can change ips. But how exactly it works... what ports it uses, how it communicates.

Does anyone have any ideas?

My specific application here is reddit likes.

Tor by default listens on 127.0.0.1:9050 (socks v5 proxy).

However it cannot be used to manipulate reddit votes.

How come if you don't mind me asking?

Tor is fucking useless for whatever you're doing. Back in 2009 I was able to fool a file sharing site out of $300, but they caught on quick. So imagine what the whole internet knows now about Tor.

There's a public list of ALL the IPs in the Tor network. Whatever you connect with using Tor, they will know instantly.

makes sense. What is the best way to hide your ip then. Most of the proxies are documented as well.

OP talks about votes/likes and not about fooling filesahring/ppc/ppd or whatever you are talking about.

OP: Yes you can use TOR, but better you use proxy lists (private are best but are not free). TOR is changing the IP every 10min. So when you do your stuff with 1 account you can get a new IP without you changing the account... Hitting the "change ID" button wont always change your current TOR ip/connection.

Can TOR be detected: YES (sometimes you even get a ip/hostname with your private IP as suffix....)
Can proxies be detected: YES

Try it and see what is working for you..... i assume you can create accounts with your tool because you will burn them. Don't expect to keep your accounts a life and kicking for ages....... Good luck.

You sound like you don't understand how Tor works.

Tor isn't good for marketing. First off, it's too slow and you'd have to write a complicated script to open multiple tor threads utilizing different tor instances in order to make it worthwhile. Secondly, the more you do this the more it slows down the network for people using tor for anonymity.

If all you're trying to do is run reddit likes, or other social networking automation, then what is your aversion to proxies?

public list of all the tor exit nodes on the network updated frequently. all reddit has to do is see if an IP connecting to them is on that list and block them.
