using separators - in the domain name?

it,s better to have all variants, becouse, someone can register 1, or 2, and to makebetter seo, and you will lose your niche. search engine will recognize 1 and 2, but in my opinion whit - it's better ( you avoid to make confusion if your keywords can "generate another keyword" - last letters from fiers word and first letter of second word
Yes search engine can parse out Keywords.
I always stick with the 1st. I think this always have an upperhand to 2nd one.
I have seen some going for '-' in between KWs and some adding up some suffix or prefix to KWs.
Exact KW domain will ease up the thing, if you are good at SEO, nothing matters, you can bring anything to front.

Go for plurals in the domain, if it will give you the exact match on both the singular and plural versions of your keyword

bertbaby is right. It's not so significant that you need to worry about it too much. Go with the non hyphenated one though.
