Using .review and .store domains

There are some great deals with .review and .store domains right now and I'm just curious if anyone has used these either as redirects or main sites and if so, how did it affect rankings or traffic?

Or just any general wisdom regarding non .com/.net domains is appreciated :)

The .store and .review renewal prices seem a little steep, so you might want to go with a cheaper domain if this is anything but churn and burn.

But in general, I have sites with .shop, .info, .us, and a few other non-standard TLDs, and there's no noticeable difference in traffic/SEO compared with my .com/net/org sites of a similar age/niche.
 
Yea, don't get conned by the free offer - once you start developing the site, and when you've already invested your $$ onto the site, and they know it, and when it come the time for renewal, and they will demand a steep price for the domain renewal in the process, lol.
I think these domains are just like ordinary TLDs, and it does not give you additional advantages.
Personally, I find it to be more confusing for your site's visitors, as 90% of them are already accustomed to a .com, and if you use something else, they'd even go for comereadmy.review .com <-- like that lol... which is the wrong domain for your site.

Never used either of these domains. But I believe there's no harm in these domains, they won't cause any harm in your seo.
 
No matter what extension we used we can always rank it if we are willing to.
Just saying.
 
I have a non-traditional extension, and honestly it wasn't any harder to rank, and it made my branding too knotch!
Think like:
Thehomeimprovement.store

People like it for the catchy name on social media.
 
Thank you so much everyone. This is just the information I was looking for. My conclusion: Non-traditional domains seem to either be the same or, in some cases, preferable to traditional domains in regards to traffic and ranking.

Yes but make sure you are able to renew them as its costly situation. Im actually waiting on a .com domain from a seller his asking 1500 , i agreed so im just waiting on the details, that particular domain he has fits one of my projects like a glove as it has over 1mil in video views per month so im kinda waiting and waiting...oh well ill see what happens next few days.
 
If I will be honest, go for .com, .org domain. It just depends sometimes it makes sense with some word after your domain name but it just depends. I would go with .com if possible.

If the choice is between biglongcompanynameintownname.com, or topic.niche, the shorter name is always going to be the most brandable and memorable.

In this case, I agree, but as I said, it depends. You want to try to find domaim that connects most.
 
I know most people feel comfortable with.com domains but I use a .reviews domain and it’s doing pretty great by now.

I feel that this type of domains can be really powerful if you optimize them well.
