Using Reddit as mode of Traffic

I'm a complete noob regarding the use of Reddit and its potential to bring in relevant traffic. I'm familiar with Quora and its basic terms are Q & A, what similar definition does apply for Reddit. Please share links to threads that I shall read for better understanding.

Instead of asking to be spoon fed, how about you search the forum? There are tons of useful guides out there. ;)
 
You think Reddit is similar to other sites? It's a place full of assholes who call themselves redditors. They won't hesitate from banning you for saying "Thanks" in a thread. F**k Reddit.

Every social network is different. You can't market shit on Reddit when an Instagram mentality.
 
Reddit is amazing. Just search the forum to learn kore about it.
 
Every post i make on reddit has been deleted no matter which sub reddit you post to. It is a waste of time i think!
 
Don't mind anyone saying Reddit is waste. Everyone social media needs different strategy. Join reddit and get into subreddit of your niche and check the environment yourselves, see what works there what time is best to post and there are lot of things to know before starting. Try yourself, you may get some accs get banned in beginning but reddit is totally worth the hustle.
 
reddit is unforgiving but if you take it slowly and provide something of value then it will reward you.

1-Self promotion is prohibited in 90% of subreddits.Just dont try to promote your links in a harsh way or you will lose your account and your domain may get banned.

2-Use quality content,add a value to Reddit.Redditors hate ads and low quality contents.

3-Find the most related subs to your niche.Each sub has it's own rules,read the rules of the sub before any submission.
 
To piggyback on what's been said here. Reddit is treacherous but not impenetrable. I have an old account with high karma which I've found to be an extremely effective tool in gaining organic traffic but your posts need to be genuine. Yes, its absolutely filled with assholes but not to the brim. I'd even argue that it's a vocal minority of users. A good rule of thumb is to remember to engage on the platform first and only use it for marketing as a secondary measure. If you don't enjoy the site for what it is don't bother because this is equivalent to not understanding the market you're ultimately trying to reach.
 
Reddit is an amazing source of traffic and sales for my business. Those that know how to use it are not very likely to share their secrets. It's best to search around a bit here and read some guides for now.
 
Reddit is great, but you have to be really smart with it

Reddit is very powerful but you have to understand the nuances inside and out. They can smell spam from a mile away.
 
I use reddit somewhat frequently. Posted my site on a post I made answering some question and gets me a few visits a month, and has the highest conversion rate by far from any other source. Post real answers with helpful content and SOMETIMES add your link, and it should work.

reading threads here will not get you any help, promotion word itself is a bit tricky and most of the social platforms will allow you to promote your website or product on their terms and condition, so if you want to promote in free of cost then i think you should first participate in their subreddits, before promotion, you should establish your accounts, the ratio of promotion and normal posts should be 1 out of 10 posts, what it means is you have to participate in reddit like you will post 1 promotion link in any particular subreddit but first you have to do 9 normal posts in different subreddits in form of posts or comments, why i am saying this because everything you will post or comment will get to the front page of your reddit profile so you can promote on reddit but you have to do it in normal way, otherwise you can loose your account but losing reddit account is not a big deal, the big deal is reddit will ban your domain forever and still very few people know or even no one knows how to unblock your domain from reddit.
 
i started with reddit a while ago , and it was my first account ever in this site , i used to navigate in small subs , one time i created a new video , just about some news (about a robot) shared it in two subs and hoooop got 1k view in 2 days , and other news video about crime got 800 views also ,
all that without having any previous subscribers or any views , ah and my 2 topics i shared were in the top and got lot of likes and one of them was pined ...

yeah you have to know how to deal with reddit , if you do it'll be great source ...
 
Reddit is a place full of people who knows what spam is. If you are looking to spam reddit, stop right now and start looking for other options. You can't spam reddit.

Now, can you earn money with reddit? Hell yeah you can! But you need to be smarter than the average reddit userbase. You can't just register an account and drop the link to money site and think they will fall for it. They will chew you up and spit you down. Then they will stomp you and will laugh at you for making a fool of yourself.

How to work with reddit to get traffic and earn money?
Just understand these 5 simple rules to game reddit.
  • You need to post relevant content on a relevant subreddit.
  • Learn what users love in particular subreddit. Indirectly promote what they love.
  • You have no opinion on reddit unless you want to get berated by the circlejerks. If you like Donald Trump or Clinton Family, keep it to yourself. Don't use your marketing account to post in any political subreddit. People check your history and then they make sure to beat their chest in public about who you like, where else you post and how you are a nazi for liking someone.
  • A big no to promoting your own YouTube channel unless you offer them very high quality content.
  • You got to follow subreddit rules. It's very easy to get blocked. I'm talking about minutes after you break the rules.
What's good thing?
Its pretty easy to create an account on reddit. You don't need no email or phone number.

A tip : After you create an account, stay active for atleast 2 weeks. Gain karma by letting people hear what they want to hear. Be a circlejerk.
