I want to be able to click a button or enable something in my FF (most likely a add-on) that will turn on my proxy which is username/password protected so I don't have to keep going into my preferences to set a proxy.

Anyone know of a add-on that does this? I only see just straight proxy:port no username / password friendly ones.

try this google page about tools with firefox
for rotating proxies

Code:
http://www.google.co.uk/#sclient=psy&hl=en&source=hp&q=firefox+auto+proxy+switcher&aq=2sx&aqi=g-sx4&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=bfdda58ca92a9720

Use foxyproxy addon for firefox.

OR

Use elite proxy switcher (its a windows software not firefox addon)

edit: i dint' know there's ff addon for elite proxy switcher :O

yes foxyproxy pro only allows private proxies

I'm not sure but maybe elite proxy switcher addon allows private proxies, i've never used the addon though just the software

If you just want a simple proxy addon to firefox you could try QuickProxy. You can put it on your status bar and turn it on or off with just a click. I've tried it and it's pretty reliable but doesn't have that many functions.
