Using PPC to promote CPA offers

I got a few months vacation from university and looking to get started into promoting CPA using PPC. I've already started researching this topic and would like your input. How much money required for initial investment? Any good training articles, videos you can point me in the right direction? Potential profits if done right?

Best tactic is trial and error regardless of the traffic source. However, if you want traffic from Adwords mainly, bear in mind that promoting CPA offers is usually against Adwords TOS. Hence, users usually use a cloaker to bypass Google Adwords restrictions
