I have quite a lot of domains that has received a google -50 hit in the serps yet they stay indexed and have high pr. I am thinking of using these sites as buffer sites for my ranking money sites and I am wondering if this is "safe" or whether I risk penalty for my ranking sites as well for "associating" them with the penalized sites.

    Anyone try this succesfully?

You definitely can use your own sites as buffers, as long as the whois info and IPs are different.

Granted, they'll be pretty expensive buffers considering web2.0 are $free :)

well my thinking is that web 2.0s can be deleted at any time for any reason while my own sites can not. And if you are going to spend money sending links to the buffers its better to own the buffers then to rent them and hope they stay up.

any tips for web2.0s that work well LakeForest?

I see you've posted a thread looking for unmoderated web2.0s. I personally would stay away from them. They invite a lot of spam, and with google updates on the way we'll be seeing an increase of sites getting smacked for having backlinks on a site with under 100 OBL now.

I see you posted on phpbuilt's thread of his list :) good work using the search! Use that list, stick with high PR and at least spin your content to very high uniqueness. Don't put links immediately in your first posts.

ok so trick is to post, let the mods view it and move on...then get back later and post links? do these web 2.0s mostly allow affiliate links so I can use them as both link buffer and a "mini" money site with say one link to my own site and one aff link to amazon?

I would also be interested in finding out if using a penalized site as a buffer passes on any of the penalization? (ie, add contextual links on the related penalized site pointing back at my main site?)
