Using PDFs online for content

If the content of the PDF is already indexed, it will be like copying any other site.
 
As @SirLouen said, PDFs get indexed all the time, so I would double check that it isn't already indexed.

I'd be careful about literally copy and pasting someone else's content too...
 
When you your self mentioned you will be copying so definitely not SEO friendly but its upto you if you can make it that in the eyes of search engine.
 
Check first if the PDF file is indexed on google. Search this on Google site:[URL of the PDF file] and if there are no results the file is not indexed, you can give it a try.
