Using Money As Flyers

I cant believe people charge for the toss cards, just make them yourself

I got played by one of these for some sex party crap.. I thought I had some real cash.... I was wondering how to make them, and if they were legal... Could be great for cpa offers and such.

Great idea, but there is a much better way....same bang for your buck, without having to use your buck...

They're called "toss cards"....

they look like folded $100 bills, $20 bills, etc.

Inside, you advertise your message. Outside, they look like a folded bill.

Google "toss cards" or toss cards dot com for an example.

These are really cool. Drop them on the ground and sit back and watch people grab them up.

Neat idea, but definitely illegal here in the US. It would probably come to bite you in the a**.

I had an idea like this last year. I use to work at a grocery store and one day a guy came in and paid for all of his groceries in $2 bills. I asked him where he got all of them because I always thought they were out of circulation. But he said he went to the bank and just ordered 500 $2 bills because he wanted to "see them back in circulation" (guy was a little weird). The thing that's cool about $2 bills is no one ever spends them. If you get one, you usually hold onto it and sometimes even show other people. So go to the bank order $2 bills, stamp or write your website address on them and just use one or 2 every time you buy something.

@Cascade you still will have to be extremely careful. That is still defacing currency and it only takes one person to ruin it for ya. It's a great method but the laws are usually really anal about this.

Yep I used this method for many things years ago and they worked great. I just drove around to busy places such as gas stations, Walmart, colleges and other stores and got a great response.

And if you want to do this even cheaper, buy them the first time and then scan then in your computer and have some teenager cut them out and fold them for you.

Thanks for bringing this up, I had totally forgotten about this method. Will be doing it again that's for sure.

Defacement of Currency

Defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code. Under this provision, currency defacement is generally defined as follows: Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

Defacement of currency in such a way that it is made unfit for circulation comes under the jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service.

writing on the currency doesn't seem to fit under the defacement category. Also, the intent is for marketing and ultimately gains, not to make the currency unusable.

5000 toss cards for $99...damn good price!

http://www.tosscards.com/SPEC.htm

Yep, I've talk to the site owner before, and he's pretty cool.

Search toss cards or drop cards on youtube, and there are some pretty good videos of people falling over themselves trying to pick these up.

There has got to be some kind of good cpa angle to use these for.

Huh, makes you think about those bills with the stamps that say "Go to this site to see where your bill has been."

That is a really good idea. How did you make the money? Im thinking about trying it using some kinda CPA offer. Put something on the card that says "you just got a free entry to our online drawing, go to mywebsite.com to enter" And just redirect them to a CPA offer. Does anyone know if these cards are folded so no matter how they land on the ground they show money?

Well If It's legal I'm a cashier at one of the busiest walmart stores located at an exit of one of the busiest interstates (I 95) any bill i stamp will circulate on the whole east cost at no time. I think It's illegal however i seen zillion of bills have writing on them stamped .

If anyone wants to try this out, mail me a pack of bills with your stamp or mark on them and I will guarantee distribution... heck, even for free...:D

Oh well, thought I would offer.

Definitely use for sites you have a long-term interest in, ie WheresGeorge

So if you get a dollar bill with something written on it and it angers you or if you feel like you must be Stanley Hall Monitor and report it, what would you do? Who even has that much free time to even care? And then if you do find out how to get this reported, are the feds (or whomever) gonna actually take the time to track you down, take time from their busy jobs, blow several thousand dollars in legal time, just to "try" and bust you for defacing a few hundred dollar bills? Your defense? "I don't know who did that. Must've been a competitor trying to frame me."

I find it hilarious that so many of you are so paranoid. I thought this forum was full of bad asses. Honestly if it was illegal I think wheresgeorge.com would be in a bit of trouble seeing as they are responsible to close to $1,000,000,000 of bills.

Anyway I like the two dollar twist, but I think it needs to be something more memorable in order to make money. Perhaps a political stance on taxes, or something to do with coupons.

To spread it get a few thousand 1 dollar bills from the bank stamp them (maybe get an automated stamper) then return them to the bank as a deposit. The same exact bank might not accept, but then just drive a few miles.
