I have a website under construction but I want to start ranking on google even if the site it not ready yet. Will Google penalize me if I use a LightBox to prevent users from accessing the content?

For those who dont know what a LightBox is:

Are you trying to stop people from viewing your site or spiders?

If spiders than why don't you use robots.txt?

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /

No, Google dosnt come to your site like a regular user, it just gets the HTML, and extracts the text, as long as your content is within the first 100k of your html, Google will still read your content.

Lightbox does not block content to Google.

If you want to block content from G/Users, just put a holding page up.

Lightboxes are generally used for displaying images/snippets of information.

Allright, so it doesnt matter if I use a lightbox, great!

Im hiding the actual content behind the lightbox so Google can read it but users cannot.
