Hi

I wanted to know if adding numbers to the end of a URL to match exact keywords helps rank a website faster.

Just a stupid easy example of what i mean : instead of blackhatseo.com (it's probably already taken); blackhatseo1.com

Thanks

for me it worked great when I used bblackhatseo.com or iblackhatseo.com

But nowadays EMD (exact match domain) gives really little effect, With good onpage SEO I can rank new pages on 1st page of google for 500-1k exact match keywords without even building links.

You can add numbers or letters as Berkeli stated or also add a word, eg blackhatseoguide.com

Also check if the .net or .org is available as those are equally good. While EMD is less effective now, it still plays a part in Google rankings so i would rather have keywords in my domain name than not.

adding numbers wont be a good choice imo you can add key phrases that will make some sense related to your main keyword...
